A Groveland man was arrested on a warrant last week for hitting the mother of his children in the eye with a pressure washer hose.

On March 9, 2024, a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint at an undisclosed Lake County residence, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County. Upon arrival, he met with the mother of 32-year-old Anthony Timothy Brant’s two children.

She was checking on her children’s well-being when Brant struck her in the back of the head with a pressure washer hose during an argument. When she turned around, she was struck again in the upper left eye. She sustained a swollen left eye that was saturated in blood, the affidavit said.

The two children described the incident as their mother had, corroborating her statement. Brant was last seen heading into the woods next to the residence, but he was not found at the time, the report said.

Brant was ultimately arrested on a warrant Wednesday, June 18, by the Groveland Police Department. He was charged with simple battery (domestic), transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
